The Modern College of Design is seeking a Financial Aid Specialist eager to work at an award- winning college. The Modern is seeking a dedicated and customer service driven Financial Aid Specialist to work with students for all of their financial aid needs and questions. The ideal candidate will have prior financial aid experience, be detail oriented and be willing to go the extra mile to help our students along the way. This position has a flexible schedule, typically working from 9am - 6pm, but Specialists must have flexibility to work later hours as needed to speak with students who cannot meet during normal business hours.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Be the primary point of contact for financial aid interviews and inquiries with ongoing and prospective Modern students and their families.
• Complete handoff to CHS housing during FA appointments and conduct follow up on housing decisions.
• Create estimates for prospective and current students and send to Director of Financial Aid for approval.
• Conduct entrance and exit interviews with new students and graduates as needed.
• Process student files including verification and financial aid input through an online process with third party servicers/Global FAS.
• Perform credit checks and certify loan applications through an online process with third party servicers/Global FAS.
• Assist students with Veteran's Education Benefits and process VA certifications.
• Assist students and cosigners with PNC And College Ave Private student loans and track loan progress in ScholarNet.
• Contact students with overdue payments.
• Receive equipment deposits from enrolled students and pass to Director of Financial Aid for posting of payment in Anthology Student.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by Director of Financial Aid.
  Requirements For This Position Include
  
  • A minimum of two years of experience working in financial aid and demonstrated expertise in all areas of financial aid.
  • Knowledge of federal and accreditation compliance standards.
  • Prior experience working with Anthology Student preferred.
  • A strong interest in working directly with students and families.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work independently are required.
  • A college degree is preferred.
