Job Description:
The financial controller is responsible for leading the company
as a proactive business manager; providing leadership and
management of financial activities and working with the site
leadership tea and levels of employees to drive company growth and
initiatives. The controller will effectively support all
manufacturing operations. Financial responsibilities at the
facility level include financial reporting, job analysis, inventory
audits, reviews/annual audit, business and financial analysis,
internal controls and general accounting support. Significant
interaction is required with other corporate functions. Essential
Duties and Responsibilities:To perform this job successfully, the
individual must be able to perform each of the following:
- Work closely with GM, corporate managers and operations teams,
driving and leading the financial processes and manufacturing
systems administration to improve bottom line and projected
financial targets.
- Help improve manufacturing efficiency and productivity to
achieve organizational objectives.
- Measure actual financial performance against target costs,
profit and productions and determine whether they are being
achieved.
- Analyze company's financial strengths and weaknesses, including
proposing corrective actions.
- Manage cash flow by coordinating timely collections with
appropriate project managers and customers.
- Evaluate, trail and communicate new capital and expenditure
projects.
- Coordinate timely payments with suppliers and purchasing
personnel.
- Prepare the company's financial reporting package and ancillary
documentation timely and in accordance with applicable established
policies and procedures.
- Ensure financial and accounting functions, financial controls,
and records meet all federal, state, local and company regulatory
requirements.
- Ensure executed contracts and all executed change orders, bond,
certificate of insurance and applicable subcontracts are properly
maintained.
- Review and approve payroll, purchase orders, accounts payable,
expense vouchers and account adjustments.
- Develop and strengthen business processes and internal
controls.
- Lead and participate in special projects as needed.
- Comply with all company operating policies, procedures, and
safety programs as established.
- Plan, direct, coordinate and evaluate the activities and
performance of direct reports. GL Duties & Responsibilities
Include:
- Monthly balance sheet account reconciliations. Reconcile all
asset, liabilities and equity accounts to ensure accuracy of
financial statements prepared.
- Monthly bank reconciliations.
- Monthly inventory account reconciliations.
- Monthly fixed asset reconciliations. Qualifications +
Experience
- BS Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of manufacturing accounting experience, including cost
accounting, inventory, bill of materials, production planning, and
purchasing is required.
- Experience with all aspects of general accounting and
management reporting is required.
