Job description The ideal candidate will have excellent phone etiquette and verbal communication skills. This position will also provide accounting and administrative support, including special projects, while maintaining confidentiality. Very attractive benefit package including 401(k). Essential duties are: Answer incoming calls. Greet and direct visitors to the company. Receive, sort and forward postal mail and maintain postage machine. Coordinate express mail services (FedEx, UPS, etc.). Perform online credit card transactions for customer sales and refunds. Review, update and distribute material safety data sheets. Generate invoices for material sales. Maintain the confidentiality of all company records. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Associate's degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience. MS Great Plains experience is a plus. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Valid driver---s license. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SKILLS Proficient in use of accounting software (MS Great Plains preferred). Fluent in Microsoft Office (primarily Excel, Word, and Outlook). Proficient in use of a calculator. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Extremely well-organized and detail-oriented Strong math skills. Ability to analyze numerical data. Strong interpersonal communication skills. Good problem solving and analytical skills. Ability to work in highly interruptive conditions. Strong customer-service skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities and tasks. Ability to perform under time pressures and meet deadlines. Ability to maintain confidentiality of information. Personal qualities of integrity, honesty, and strong work ethic. PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS. The physical demands and working conditions described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this position. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit at a computer; use hands to type or key, use a mouse, or feel; talk, and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and occasionally drive. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. Working Conditions Work is generally performed in a business office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Occasional overtime maybe required, especially during peak accounting periods.
