Located at Yaskawa's corporate headquarters in Waukegan, IL or Miamisburg, OH, under the direction of the Senior Tax Manager, the Senior Tax Analyst prepares or reviews a variety of tax-related documents for the Company (Yaskawa America) and its subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable guidelines and regulations. This role performs tax reconciliations and determines liabilities for accounts, divisions or business units, assisting in the preparation and distribution of tax forms.



DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:



* Develop and maintain effective processes to timely meet all tax compliance obligations including Federal and State Corporate Income/Franchise taxes, Sales and Use taxes, Accounting for Income taxes, and Property taxes. Continually identify, advise, and review current tax issues throughout the organization.

* Compiles and prepares YAI information for Federal and State Income Tax Returns including preparation of International tax forms (5471, 8858, FDII, GILTI, FTC) in conjunction with the Sr. Tax Manager

* Develops and maintains an effective process of accounting for taxes including preparation of month and year-end close entries, tax provision work papers, account reconciliations, annual audit and financial statement support and any support of parent company needs.

* Facilitates customer satisfaction and maintains legal compliance by developing and documenting sales and use tax processes and working with various teams within the organization and third party processors.

* Oversees preparation of monthly and quarterly filing of Sales and Use tax returns for multiple states. Must research and analyze tax liability issues related to customer invoicing.

* Ensures proper maintenance of database for storing up-to-date tax exemption certificates; creates effective reporting and usage of exemption certificates.

* Handles proper maintenance of the incorporation and registration process in new tax jurisdictions for assigned YAI and subsidiary businesses, as well as preparation of annual state filing requirements to maintain compliance in registered states.

* Assists Sr. Tax Manager with the management of all internal and external audits related to tax.

* Verifies the Company's tax fixed asset records are properly maintained and updated on a timely basis including tax depreciation calculations and reporting.

* Oversee all processes related to unclaimed property compliance including due diligence and filing of escheat returns with the appropriate jurisdictions are maintained and functioning effectively. Responsible for analysis of AP, AR, and Payroll adherence to state unclaimed property laws.

* Assists the Sr. Tax Manager in various areas of tax compliance.

* Perform other duties and functions as determined by management.



QUALIFICATIONS:



* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance. Masters in Taxation preferred.

* 3 - 5 years of experience in the corporate income tax area; including Federal, State, and Sales & Use taxes.

* US International tax experience preferred

* 2 years' experience in the general accounting field. A CPA is preferred.

* Ability to foster teamwork while working independently. Initiates and manages multiple projects and completes them in a timely manner.

* A detailed oriented person with the ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and analyze complex situations.

* Customer/client oriented with experience in working with various departments throughout an organization.

* Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills required.

* Mathematical, accounting and research skills are essential.

* Excellent oral and written communication skills.

* Must be PC proficient including software skills in Excel, Word, Federal & State taxes, sales and use tax, and fixed assets.
