difference day in and day out. JOB SUMMARY:The Assistant Controller
contributes toward the planning, organizing, directing and
controlling of the financial activities of the company. This
position provides financial services and advice to internal
business unit customers, works with external auditors and agencies,
supports financial reporting throughout the company and contributes
to the development and maintenance of financial controls and
procedures. This position reports directly to the
Controller.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists in
accounts analyses, budgeting, billing, bookkeeping, credit,
collection, general ledger entries, and internal auditing to
contribute to the measurement and achievement of financial control
goals.Prepares reporting that summarizes and forecasts company
business activity and financial position in areas of income,
expenses and earnings based on past, present and expected
operations.Updates and maintains the documented system of
accounting policies and procedures as advised.Assists Controller as
needed in the determination of the organizational structure and
manpower requirements that will most effectively and economically
meet the objectives of financial control.Assists in the planning
and control of the current financial position of the company with
respect to cash, accounts receivable, and accounts
payable.Implements and executes sound accounting standards and
procedures to ensure adequate control and appraisal of the
company's financial needs.Prepares and interprets corporate
accounting records, financial reports, management information
reports and special studies, to assist the Controller, as required.
Works with external auditors and provides needed information for
the annual audit as needed.Ensures compliance with local, state,
and federal government requirements. Supports Vandor's promotion of
customer focus, quality and continuous improvement throughout the
company.Maintains awareness of their impact on product quality and
the importance of their activities in achieving, maintaining and
improving Vandor's quality systems, as applicable.Complies with
safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work
areas.Performs other duties as assigned that may be
required.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no initial
supervisory responsibilities.Requirements:QUALIFICATIONS:Must have
direct experience developing, maintaining and analyzing financial
and accounting records preferably in a manufacturing
environment.Must work with the highest degree of accuracy in all
work performed.Must be a team player and able to work successfully
with interdependent teams.Must be able to multi-task in a fast
paced environment.Must be able to motivate others to achieve and
maintain excellence.Must be a self-motivated, self-starter.Must
possess the analytical and problem-solving skills necessary to
perform the job effectively.Must have above average computer and
mathematics skills.Must be willing to invest the time and effort
necessary to support the needs of the operation and aid the company
in its strategic objective of establishing a world-class
manufacturing facility.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A Bachelor's
degree in Accounting (or the equivalence of relevant experience) is
required with a preferred five years of experience as an
accountant, ideally within a manufacturing environment. BENEFITS
