Position SummaryThe Instructor Aide serves as a support to the Upward Bound class instructor to assist with Upward Bound students' completion of assigned work and general classroom management.This is a part-time temporary position (primarily used for Summer Academy and Summer Bridge).This hourly pay rate for this position is $23.12 per hour.Principal AccountabilitiesCUSTOMER SERVICEProvide strong customer service and/or student advocacy as demonstrated through a positive attitude of approachability, adaptability, strong problem solving, and desire to identify and support student successEngage in behaviors that create an inclusive environment in which all people are valued and supportedDoes not stop with the first or easiest answer to a customer, but gets to the root cause of the problem, question or issue to solve it as quickly and professionally as possibleACADEMIC SUPPORTConsult with classroom instructor to confirm Upward Bound students' assignment requirementsProvide guidance, advice and oversight to students as they complete assigned workADMINISTRATIVE MANAGEMENTEnsure compliance with classroom management proceduresFacilitate classroom workshops or teach lessons in the absence of presentersRequirementsAssociate's Degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred1 year of experience tutoring youth required; 1 years of experience in working with disadvantaged and under-prepared youth preferredMust have excellent oral and written communication skillsStrong organizational skills requiredProblem solving ability requiredAbility to work collaboratively and independently with others requiredPDN-992339bf-6609-446b-bddc-71990f20cad0
