Position SummarySinclair seeks to attract an academically and culturally diverse faculty that carries out the mission of the college with dedication, innovation and a commitment to the success of each student.Sinclair is currently seeking part-time (adjunct) faculty for day, evening, online and weekend courses at our partner correctional institutions:Dayton Correctional InstitutionOhio Reformatory for Women, MarysvillePickaway Correctional InstitutionAllen Oakwood Correctional InstitutionSoutheastern Correctional Complex, Franklin CountyLebanon Correctional InstitutionWarren Correctional InstitutionRoss Correctional InstitutionCorrectional Reception Center, OrientTrumbull Correctional Institution, LeavittsburgPrincipal AccountabilitiesPlan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learningPrepare, distribute and submit syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policiesEmploy appropriate teaching and learning strategies, use available instructional technology when appropriateModify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student's needsSupport classroom and online efforts to promote student successEvaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learningMaintain accurate records of student progressSubmit final grade rosters according to established deadlinesMaintain confidentiality of student informationCannot exceed maximum of 12 credit hours per semesterRequirementsA minimum of a Master's degree in Communication or a Master's degree with at least 18 semester credit hours of graduate coursework in the content area is required.Evidence of successful prior teaching experience is preferredA demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the course and program levelEffective communication skills and interpersonal skills with the capacity to work successfully in a culturally diverse college communityMust possess demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology, including multimedia-based instructionAbility to pass a DRC background check requiredOfficial transcripts for all post-secondary degrees (if applicable) and successful completion of a background check will be required prior to date of hire.PDN-992339c8-e10d-4d35-bd97-b280106ad83f
