Job Description SummaryThe Product Definition Engineer, as a design team member, creates and updates NX CAD deliverables that meet customer, partner, and program needs. In this role, you will work with engineering, configuration management, supply chain, and other business functional teams to deliver complex power generator designs while building your expertise in hardware and systems definition. Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities

  • Create parts and assemblies using fully parametric features.
  • Create product definition in the form of 2D cross sections, 2D drawings, and exportable CAD data formats.
  • Assist with tolerance stack-ups and design change authoring.
  • Support analysis, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, quality and inspection within expected cost, quality and schedule.
  • Work with engineering and supply chain partners to determine Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) required for proper clearances and fits while maximizing manufacturing producibility.
  • Ensure all interfaces between components are established and agreed upon by engineering design teams of mating parts and other sub-systems.
  • Work within the guidelines of applicable local GE Policies & Procedures, Engineering Standards, Specifications, Government and Commercial Standards, and special security requirements.
  • Continuously challenge self and team skills in functional area. Stay current with industry developments and best practices in mechanical design, modeling and visualization.
  • Have the ability to work on government restricted programs with proper access.
  • Concurrently execute on multiple projects to ensure program cost, quality and schedule requirements are met. Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 12 years of experience in engineering, IT, scientific or other technical position.) Desired Characteristics
      • Experience in PTC Windchill Workgroup Manager
      • Ability to work independently.
      • Strong problem solving skills.
      • Experience in aerospace component design and packaging.
      • Strong oral and written communication skills.
      • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology.
