Basic Function: The service technician provides service for our
products both at our office and at the location of the product.
This includes, but not limited to, resolving general and technical
product questions, servicing the product to company standards, and
transporting equipment and product.Responsibilities and Duties for
Service Technician: Receives communications from the field
regarding service and warranty issues. Assists in the resolution of
field service issues. Works with other departments as required.
Uses and stores the appropriate information and documents
pertaining to the issue. Familiar with department processes,
engineering standards, sales policies, terms and conditions, IOM
manual, and other documents associated with service and
warranty.Capable of accessing, reading and understanding
drawings.Capable of generating service orders, RMA's, and credit
memos. Familiar with the vibration/balancing equipment and other
tools used by the service department. Assist in the scheduling of
customer visits. Assist in setting up contractors needed for
customer visits. Assist in the examination of product,
identification of issues, and the corrective action to be
taken.Communicate opportunities and contribute to continuous
improvement activities. Travels using company vehicles, including
the Hartzell Sales demonstration trailer, to and from customer
sites, tradeshows, and other destinations as required. Travels as
required.Adheres to our 3 company pillars: Customer Driven, People
and Culture, and Operational Excellence.Works under the direction
of the service coordinator, supervisor, or department manager.
Qualifications and Required Skills for Service Technician: High
School Diploma, Associated Degree preferred or related field
experience highly preferred. Excellent verbal and written
communication skills.Must have and maintain and excellent driving
record. Strong organization and planning skills. Proficiency in the
use of Access, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint is
preferred.Ability to take lead in projects and attain results with
minimal guidance. Outstanding Problem Solving skills are also
required.General understanding of industrial ventilation systems a
plus.Experience with fan component and assembly knowledge a plus.
Familiarity with reading and troubleshooting basic electrical
schematics and controls is a plus.Knowledge with Intuitive or
