Job Summary

Obsidian Solutions Group (OSG) is seeking a Cloud Engineer - Administration Specialist to support our onsite customer. To design, develop, implement, and optimize hybrid cloud-based solutions. They will

The National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) is the source for air and space intelligence. NASIC produces integrated, predictive air and space intelligence to enable military operations, force modernization and national policymaking.

This contract will support End User Workspace support to include service desk, accounts: Management, workspace deployment and disposition, video teleconferencing (VTC)operations, multimedia hardware, software administration/installation/license management, and information technology service management (ITSM) support services for NASIC's enterprise.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Test, deploy, transition, and optimize performance of cloud services systems.
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and fine tune cloud services and systems in collaboration with government and contractor teams.
  • Provide lifecycle sustainment stewardship for cloud services.
  • Develop and provide both ad-hoc and weekly Cloud Performance Monitoring reports displaying key performance metrics in near real time.
  • Establish version control methodology for cloud services.
  • Remain current with new emerging industry cloud technologies and their potential utilization within the NASIC hybrid cloud environments.
  • Document and facilitate opportunities for service migrations to the cloud.
  • Document potential application performance bottlenecks; make improvement recommendations and configuration changes as approved.
  • Establish a restoral plan for possible disaster, threat, or failure of service.
  • Responsible for the technical evaluation of cloud strategy and program architecture.
  • Responsible for gathering system requirements from application architects and product owners.
  • Responsible for generating scripts and templates required for the automatic provisioning of resources.
  • Document standard cloud service offerings; establish and monitor processes and standards for optimal use of cloud service provider offerings.
  • Collaborate with the software and platform engineers to enable applications to run on cloud infrastructure. Cloud Administration
    • Provide daily operational sustainment of hybrid cloud environments and dependent services.
    • Provide administrative services in a mixed Windows and Linux based distribution operating system environment.
    • Maintain cyber security compliance of cloud services/systems.
    • Manage hybrid cloud infrastructure and platform dependent infrastructure services.
    • Install and configure operating systems; provide technical assistance to troubleshoot and resolve configuration and performance issues.
    • Transition and operate architected and engineered technical solutions into the hybrid cloud environment.
    • Support and provide best practice performance improvement recommendations for operation and system security.
    • Remain current with new emerging industry cloud technologies and their potential utilization within the NASIC hybrid cloud environments.
    • Operate and maintain scripts and templates required for the automatic provisioning of resources.
    • Install and execute processes and standards for optimal use of cloud service provider offerings Qualifications
      • 3+ years of experience configuring and maintaining environments: Serves, Switches, firewalls, storage, and desktop
      • Experience with developing IaaS, PaaS, or SaaS software and deploying those services on cloud-based systems such as AWS, Azure, or GovCloud.
      • 8+ years of experience in either or Systems and Network Administration
      • Experience Configuring and maintaining CISCO Switches and Routers
      • Have experience with Amazon Cloud
      • Ability to analyze, understand, and address complex systems and issues
      • Ability to develop architectural solutions to meet customer needs
      • Ability to communicate on multiple levels (engineers, customers, leadership, etc.) and in varying media (conversation, presentation, email, etc.) Desirable Qualifications:
        • Software Container Management (Docker, podman, rkt)
        • Apache Mesos and DC/OS
        • Kubernetes Physical Requirements and Work Environment
          • Normal Office environment Travel
            • Up to 10%
