Job Summary:
We are currently seeking an experienced, self-starting, goal
oriented, and successful sales professional to fill the role of
Business Development Manager in our Dayton, OH region. As a
Business Development Manager, your objective is to clearly express
ideas in a manner that will build rapport with our current and new
customers. The ideal candidate will not let the market dictate
their opportunities; rather, they will proactively build a pipeline
of project opportunities that provide for new customer
relationships and assist in managing existing key customer
partnerships for long-term business growth and success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop new business accounts and expand existing customer
relationships to secure major construction contracts.
--- Utilizes strategic account planning and sale pipeline
management tools
--- Follows a proven sales process that includes prospecting,
qualifying, targeting, identifying customer needs, developing value
propositions, presenting solutions and alternatives, and closing
the sale for future construction project opportunities
--- Works collaboratively with regional operations team to create
and implement strategic plans to generate business opportunities,
which result in achieved revenue objectives for the Dayton, OH
region
--- Continuously grow and develop your skills to lead project teams
in selling high-end conceptual services to executive-level managers
and buyers of large corporations and agencies
--- Maintains knowledge of marketplace issues, industry trends,
competitive information, customer expectations, public policy and
other market drivers
--- Makes decisions based on Messer's long-term growth philosophy
and core values
--- Participates in industry and community organizations
Minimum Requirements:
--- Bachelor's degree in business, construction or related
field
--- Proven track record developing business and long-term client
relations
--- 3-5 years of business development / sales experience
--- Knowledge/experience in a construction-related industry is
preferred
--- Business and community relationships in the Dayton area
--- Ability to lead cross-functional teams in order to complete a
sale
--- Ability to quickly establish relationships with executive-level
managers and buyers of large corporations and agencies based on
credibility, value, and trust
--- Formal sales training and experience with client management
software is a plus
--- Knowledge and use of behavior-based tools such as Social Style
or DISC is a plus
--- Knowledge of the Aviation, Federal/Military, Health Care,
Higher Education, Industrial, and Science and Technology markets is
a plus
--- Overnight travel to conferences and meetings as needed
--- Valid driver's license
Abilities:
--- Possess all auditory, speaking and communicating
capabilities
--- Physical requirements: sitting, standing, walking, bending,
twisting, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 25lbs., seeing
and reading, driving
