Job Summary:The Project Manager / Project Engineer position involves supporting of custom design projects through the order process for air moving equipment utilized in industrial applications. The Project Manager / Project Engineer will be responsible for the accuracy of order write-ups, bills of materials, and drawings as they pertain to custom build products. The individual must be able to interpret and apply different customer specifications, design documentation, equipment schedules, and application criteria to the designs and selections of fans and blowers. A strong verbal and written communication is required to provide accurate and timely responses to order inquiries. The position requires someone who can multi-task, is very methodical, and can work independently with little or no supervision. Organization and accuracy are necessary. An understanding of how to apply theoretical analysis to real world principles as it pertains to research and development is required. The Project Manager / Engineer will lead a cross functional team during the design and production of special build fans, to ensure the order is delivered on time, on budget, and of high quality. Responsibilities and Duties of the Project Manager / Project Engineer:Supports order processing by reviewing specifications, customer drawings, data, design documents, equipment schedules, and application criteria and assist with selecting the most effective fan for the application based on deep understanding of Hartzell Air Movement productsInteract with sales representatives and customers to clearly define any special product requirementsWorks closely with other engineering disciplines to ascertain feasibility of designing special equipment/existing product modificationsExcellent oral and written communication skillsFlexible and adaptive to changeReview designs using Solid WorksAssure technical accuracy of order write-ups, bills of materials, and drawingsManage projects with cross functional teams from order stage to final shipmentEnsure order is delivered on time, on budget, and of high qualityCapable of handling multiple projects simultaneouslyTo manage up and forecast risksDefine special purchased part components, and address vendor and purchasing questions from equipment quoting stage through manufacturing, installation, and maintenance phaseAssist with operational inquiries pertaining to the proper assembly of the productsKnowledge of drive selection, couplings, vibration isolator selection, and different seal applications, as well as electrical and electrical components in makeup air units a plus Qualifications and Required Skills of the Project Manager / Project Engineer:Education:BSME with 3 - 5 years industrial experience; or equivalent preferredBachelor of Science with 3 - 5 years project management experience of manufacturing projectsProject Management Professional certification a plusExcellent communication skillsThe position requires someone who can multi-task, is very methodical and can work independently with little or no supervisionGoal oriented, high energy individual, and self-motivated. Ability to take control of projects and express their opinion with the customer and/or teammatesAbility to influence others to want to achieve goalsOrganized to maintain project completion in a timely manner. Understands priorities and follow through in project managementProficient in the use of Microsoft SuiteExperienced SolidWorks user or equal is desiredWorking knowledge of fluid flow and fan applications preferredKnowledge and familiarity of makeup air units and fiberglass reinforced plastics (FRP) as it pertains to fans and blowers is strongly desiredGood understanding of fan applications, sound, and vibration PI180856345
