DIR, AP & UTILITIESPOSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVEDirector, AP &
Utilities is a senior leader in the accounting department with
responsibility for ensuring the transaction processing areas create
accurate and timely financial records for the
organization.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Utilities Management
departments, ensuring proper internal controls and processing
efficiency. In conjunction with the AP Manager, oversee the
Companys payment of vendor invoices to ensure accurate and timely
disbursement
- Design and maintain systems of internal controls and financial
records, making use of current technologies
- Identifies relevant metrics for each department, and implements
a process to monitor, manage and report performance against these
metrics
- Develops strategic process improvements and oversees cross
functional project teams to execute these initiatives
- Establish communication across all areas of the Company
reporting trends, performance against metrics, areas of operational
and financial improvement, and relevant legal and statutory
changes
- Creates and updates policy and procedures documents for
accounting personnel
- Provide insightful reporting and feedback, positive or
negative, to the organization on current performance, key metrics,
market trends and challenges. Facilitate tactical and strategic
solutions for improving results
- Communicates current results to senior leadership on a frequent
basis. Providing insight on current performance
- Hires, coaches, develops, and trains team members. Communicates
performance level expectations; provides constructive feedback and
establishes accountability to ensure goals of individual team
members and the team meet or exceed expectations
- Helps develop controls in compliance with SOX requirements
- Ensures teams are utilizing Company systems and processes
efficiently and in accordance with policies
- Performs intuitive ad-hoc reporting as needed
- Other duties as assignedMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE,
SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 10+ years experience in accounting field
- 5+ years managerial experience
- Experience managing transaction processing areas (AP, AR,
Billing)
- Ability to communicate clear and effectively, both written and
verbal
- Experience managing projects
- Ability to conduct business and manage in an ethical
manner
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills
