About this Position:
This role is responsible for managing objectives, managing
manpower, facilitating initiatives, reporting results, setting
electrification strategy, giving direction/approval, and decision
making on the following job functions:
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Cost (cost change on all
parts, including key cost initiatives, strong cost negotiation, and
strategic cost planning)
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Contracts (Service Parts
Purchase & Sales Agreement, contract negotiations for
suppliers,Drop-ship contracts and terms/conditions, Pricing
Agreements)
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Buildout (sustainability
of non-current parts and production)
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Tool & Die Maintenance
(tooling transfers, tooling storage, tools repair
reviews/approvals, new tool purchases)
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Stressed Supplier
(bankruptcy, financial alerts, capacity concerns), which includes
determining resourcing requirements/processes/materials/components
etc associated with resourcing and setup, qualification of new
supplier or production location
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Parts Division
Electrification Projects (including alliance partnerships, business
acquisitions, etc)
Responsibilities include:
- - - - - - - Oversee the departments negotiation of service
parts agreements with suppliers, in partnership with legal.
Approximately 2-5 contracts per month and 600 suppliers in total. -
Ensure full analysis and review of details within agreement and
impact to Honda. - Get involved in difficult negotiations that have
been elevated up thru the department. -
- - - - - - - Oversee the management of supplier issues and cost
changes on all parts. This includes negotiating costs, finding
economical, viable solutions together with suppliers, finding
alternative suppliers, etc. - This also ensures utilization and
strategy for the department regarding the use of commodity/industry
cost tables and rates, process costs validation/methodology,
manufacturing setup cost validation/methodology, SGAP costs
judgment and review, etc. - Get involved in difficult negotiations
that have been elevated up thru the department. -
- - - - - - - Ensure non-current continuous supply with each
buildout model and through the life of part, including tooling
transfer management. - This includes ensuring project plans are
established, followed, and reported on. - If gaps exist in the
process ensure root cause review and countermeasure
validation.
- - - - - - - Identify and oversee the implementation of process
/ procedure improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness
and "do more with less"
- - - - - - - Oversee or contribute inputs towards projects on a
regular basis. Examples of projects are identifying cost control
metrics, setting up electronic coding system, creating cost
agreements with factories, etc. This activity includes providing
direction on things such as benchmarking, strategy review,
organizational direction/initiatives, etc.
- - - - - - - Division Electrification Strategy & Project
Management. - Lead and provide direction on electrification
projects for the Division, this includes cross and inter-divisional
collaboration. - Complete decision analysis, requirements
collection, and overall direction setting for electrification
strategy within the division.
- - - - - - - Provide leadership to all members of the
department, including managing workload and morale
- - - - - - - Report department results to upper-level management
and be able to countermeasure effectively when needed.Who we are

-Required Work Experience:
- - - - - - - - 10+ years of supply chain experience that ensures
a solid understanding of supply base, supplier production
environments, supplier costing methods and design
changes/engineering standards
