Director of Operations - Chief Operating OfficerSpringfield, Ohio04/24/2025Compensation: 150,000-175,000 / AnnuallyOur client, a global leader in aerospace engineering and manufacturing, is seeking a qualified Chief Operating Officer to join our team in Springfield.The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and developing the division. A strong technical background in design engineering and manufacturing, combined with management skills, will enable close collaboration with all departments to propose optimal solutions for clients and the company. The candidate should understand business needs, suggest valuable offers, and oversee project management until delivery of high-quality solutions.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Report to the CEO, monitor revenue margins, and conduct budget reviews to maximize profits.
• Manage operations across design engineering, manufacturing engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and quality, with support from department specialists (Sales, HR, IT, Quality, Communications, etc.).
• Collaborate with HR to create job descriptions, set performance goals, evaluate staff, hire qualified personnel, and oversee training programs.
• Develop innovative solutions to meet client needs related to design, capacity, quality, delivery, and costs.
• Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to increase productivity.
• Plan and execute capacity expansion strategies to meet market demands.KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's degree in business, industrial/supply chain management, or related field preferred; a bachelor's degree with relevant experience is acceptable.
  • At least 8 years of supervisory experience in a production environment, preferably in metal manufacturing (design, welding, assembly, testing).
  • Proficiency with MRP systems, including implementation and Go-Live procedures.
  • Experience in job scheduling, workflow coordination, and employee management.
  • Knowledge of basic design, production principles, and functions.
