Job Description:
Description The duties of this position involve employees who
advise on, administer, supervise, or perform professional and
scientific work as a Radiation Oncologist. in one or more fields of
medicine. The nature of duties and responsibilities is such that
the degree of Doctor of Medicine or Doctor and is a fundamental
requirement. Incumbent will join staff which currently includes a
board-certified radiation oncologist, physician assistant,
certified medical dosimetrist, two board-certified therapeutic
medical physicists, four radiation therapists, and an advanced
medical support assistant. The department just installed a GE RT
Discovery 590 CT Simulator and will install a Varian True Beam
medical linear accelerator in mid-2019. The department uses Varian
Eclipse Radiation Therapy Treatment Planning System and a MIM
Deformable Image Registration Workstation. The facility is
accredited by the American College of Radiology. Schedule: Monday
through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Financial Disclosure Report:

Affairs offers Permanent Change of Station (PCS) relocation

for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the
closing date of this announcement, 09/30/2019. Basic Requirements:
United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when
it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with
VA Policy. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree
resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic
medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the
schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year
in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and
unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State,
Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District
of Columbia. Completion of residency training, or its equivalent,
approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core
specialty training program leading to eligibility for board
certification. Proficiency in spoken and written English. Physical
requirements outlined below. Certification by the American Board of
Radiology (ABR) in Radiation Oncology and meeting requirements of
ABR Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Program. Preferred
Experience: Volumetric Arc Radiotherapy (VMAT), Intensity Modulated
Radiotherapy (IMRT), Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT), 3D
Conformal Radiotherapy (3D-CRT), Image Guided Radiotherapy (IGRT),
and High Dose Rate (HDR) Brachytherapy within past two years.
Contouring of patient anatomy based on CT, PET/CT, and/or MRI image
data to include 4DCT image data within past two years.
Ultrasound-guided placement of fiducial markers in prostate within
past two years. Ultrasound-guided placement of spacer gel for
prostate cancer patients within past two years. Reference: VA
Regulations, specifically VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Appendix G-2
Physician Qualification Standard. This can be found in the local
Human Resources Office. Physical Requirements: Light lifting (under
15 lbs), pushing one to two hours, reaching above shoulder, use of
fingers. Walking and standing two (2) to eight (8) hours. Kneeling
0-1 hour. Ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination
simultaneously and able to visually examine.Department:0602 Medical
