The clinical nurse (staff resources) functions in a
multi-faceted role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes
excellence in the practice of Nursing. The RN is responsible for
maintaining high standards for a caseload of patients as described
by the scope of care for the area of practice and demonstrates
appropriate actions based on sound scientific research and
evidence-based principles. The RN also coordinates/directs care
delivered by the interdisciplinary team. The RN is accountable for
compliance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, applicable regulatory
standards, and institutional policies and procedures. The RN
provides physical, emotional and spiritual support that
directly/indirectly impacts the patient outcomes and care provided
to patients/ families/ significant others. The Tier II - Facility
Specific RN House-wide Float rotates to designated units to
subsidize staffing shortages as needed. The Tier II - Facility
Specific RN House-wide Float is required to maintain core
competencies upon hire and annually.
Education: BSN required or must complete within 3 years of hire. -
Proof of enrollment -required within 6 months of hire.
Licensure: Valid Ohio Registered Nurse License
Certification: Current CPR certification. ACLS and PALS required or
must have within one year form date in position. This must be
Experience: 2 years of recent Advanced Care RN experience within an
in-patient acute care setting required (including vents & drips);
critical care RN experience is preferred.
Skills/Other: Attend designated classes as discussed in yearly
performance appraisal. If all above requirements are met, may be
eligible for float differential.
