TITLE: Medical Technologist(MT or MLT)(45K +)
LOCATION: Centerville, IN

Summary:
Under the technical supervision of his/her immediate supervisor, the MT/MLT performs high and moderate complexity laboratory procedures in a timely and accurate manner to provide information for diagnosing and combating disease.
Assumes responsibility and accountability for following the established policies and procedures of the hospital and laboratory department and as defined by the Mission Statement of the hospital.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Documents verbal orders for laboratory tests
-Collects blood specimens
-Processes Non-Admit Specimens
-Performs analyses on the laboratory test directory
-Enters the test results into the computer
-Maintains a clean and orderly work area
-Notifies the supervisor when supplies, test kits and reagents should be ordered.
-Correlates laboratory methods, procedures, and patient test results with age-specific population criteria, i.e. geriatrics, adults, pediatrics, and neonates.
-Demonstrates appropriate troubleshooting capabilities; refers problems to the appropriate individual when indicated.
-Participates in hospital and departmental quality assessment and improvement (QA & I) activities as required.
-Assists in the development of laboratory techniques and procedures as required.
-Assists in research as required.
-Assists in the testing, evaluation, and set up of new equipment.
-Performs CAP proficiency tests in a timely manner.
-Participates in the instruction of students and new employees.
Qualifications:
MT or MLT degree required.
ASCP or AMT or AAB required.
If not, must obtain within 90 days.
ADDITIONAL INFO:
The facility looking for several MT or MLT's as they are expanding.
The openings are as follows:
Evening shift(2:00pm-10:30pm), 40 hours a week, will work between two locations so variety.
Night shift(10:00pm-6:30am),40 hours a week.
The range starts at $22.17hr for MLT's and $26.48hr for MT's depending on experience and they offer full benefits and relocation.
