Job Description:

The Tier I System-wide Staff Resource RNs will float between campuses (Miami Valley Hospital, Miami Valley Hospital North, Miami Valley Hospital South, Atrium Medical Center, Upper Valley Medical Center, Jamestown, and Beavercreek) and will float to (1) level of specialized acuity (I.E. Emergency Departments, Dialysis units, Labor & Delivery units, Nurseries, etc.). Tier 1 System-wide Staff Resource RNs float to designated units to subsidize staffing shortages as needed. The Tier I System-wide Float RN is required to maintain core competencies upon hire and annually. Tier I Staff Resource RNs receive accelerated float pay.The clinical nurse (staff resources) functions in a multi-faceted role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence in the practice of Nursing. The RN is responsible for maintaining high standards for a caseload of patients as described by the scope of care for the area of practice and demonstrates appropriate actions based on sound scientific research and evidence-based principles. The RN also coordinates/directs care delivered by the interdisciplinary team. The RN is accountable for compliance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, applicable regulatory standards, and institutional policies and procedures. The RN provides physical, emotional and spiritual support that directly/indirectly impacts the patient outcomes and care provided to patients/ families/ significant others.
Education: Graduation from accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.
Licensure: Valid Ohio Registered Nurse License
Certification: Current CPR & ACLS certification is required. PALS & TNCC preferred.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience within the Emergency Dept setting is required. Emergency Trauma Center experience is preferred.
Skills/Other: Attend designated classes as discussed in yearly performance appraisal. If all above requirements are met, may be eligible for float differential.
