Job Description:

The clinical nurse (staff resources) functions in a multi-faceted role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence in the practice of Nursing. The RN is responsible for maintaining high standards for a caseload of patients as described by the scope of care for the area of practice and demonstrates appropriate actions based on sound scientific research and evidence-based principles. The RN also coordinates/directs care delivered by the interdisciplinary team. The RN is accountable for compliance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, applicable regulatory standards, and institutional policies and procedures. The RN provides physical, emotional and spiritual support that directly/indirectly impacts the patient outcomes and care provided to patients/ families/ significant others. The Tier III - System-wide Float RN floats to designated units to subsidize staffing shortages at all PH Hospitals: Miami Valley Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital, Atrium Medical Center, Upper Valley Medical Center, and Miami Valley Hospital South. The Tier III - System-wide Float RN is required to maintain core competencies upon hire and annually.Education: Graduation from accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
Licensure: Valid Ohio Registered Nurse License
Certification: Current AHA BLS certification required upon hire. Must maintain ACLS and PALS (have one year to obtain).
Experience: Min. 2 years of recent acute care hospital RN experience required; one of which must be in an ICU/critical care setting; including vents and drips.
Skills/Other: Attend designated classes as discussed in yearly performance appraisal.
