Job Description:
Sinclair Community College is a comprehensive community college
that offers career and transfer programs leading to bachelor's
degrees, associate degrees, certificate programs, and continuing
education opportunities. We are seeking applicants for a full-time
Aviation Maintenance Senior Lab Technician. This position will
support the Aviation Technology Department Chairperson, faculty and
staff by providing instruction for aviation maintenance courses and
maintaining lab spaces, equipment and supplies. With the rapid
expansion of our A&P mechanic program and growing enrollment,
this position is critical to the success of the program and covers
a broad range of responsibilities.
The salary for this position is between $50,590 - $67,453 and
determined commensurate with experience.
Principal AccountabilitiesProvide aviation maintenance course
instruction as assigned at both Sinclair's downtown Dayton campus
and the Dayton Airport facility.
Coordinate with the department chair and program coordinators to
ensure all Aviation Technology department laboratory spaces and
equipment are maintained effectively for instructional use
Maintain inventories of laboratory equipment and supplies
Repair equipment as required or arrange for contracted repair
work
Develop/manage annual supply and capital budget requests
Purchase/maintain required laboratory equipment and supplies
Ensure program compliance with all safety and environmental
requirements
Give tours and presentations to area high school students, guidance
counselors and teachers as well as business, government and
community leaders
Recruit new students through contacts with area high schools,
aviation maintenance departments, corporations, and aviation
organizations
Attend and support Sinclair recruiting and outreach events
Other duties as assigned by the Department Chairperson
RequirementsFAA Airframe and Powerplant license required
Minimum of 5 years work experience in aviation maintenance or
related field required.
Aviation education experience in a Part 147 program desired.
Ability to work flexibly and cooperatively with students and
faculty in both an instructional and supportive role required
Ability to professionally communicate and coordinate with outside
agencies such as suppliers and vendors required
Ability to maintain and repair a wide variety of lab equipment
related to aviation maintenance training required
Strong organizational and record keeping skills for maintaining
equipment and supply inventories required.
