- Environmental, Health and Safety Coordinator
The Environmental, Health and Safety Coordinator will play a key
role in advancing a safety-first culture by supporting and
enhancing environmental, health, and safety (EHS) initiatives. This
position ensures compliance with all applicable EHS regulations
while promoting continuous improvement in workplace safety.
Reporting to the EHS Manager, the EHS Coordinator must be able to
work independently, exercise sound judgment, and proactively
collaborate with cross-functional departments, including plant
operations, engineering, maintenance, sanitation, and quality
assurance (QA), to drive safety excellence across all operational
areas

- Foster a Safety-First Culture: Drive a strong, sustainable
safety culture by actively engaging with site leadership and
operational teams to promote continuous improvement and innovation
in workplace safety. - - - -
- Data-Driven EHS Strategy: Collect and analyze key performance
indicator (KPI) metrics to support the development and execution of
effective Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) strategies and
process improvements. - - - -
- Regulatory Compliance Audits: Conduct regular audits across all
plant functions to ensure strict adherence to applicable EHS
regulations and company policies.

- Health & Safety Program Compliance: Ensure compliance with
critical Health & Safety programs, including but not limited to:

- Chemical Process Safety Management (PSM) & Risk Management Plan
(RMP) - - - -
- Control of Hazardous Energies (LOTO) - - - -
- Electrical Safety (Arc Flash) - - - -
- Powered Industrial Trucks - - - -

- Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and procedural reviews - - - -
- Ergonomic risk assessments and manual lifting safety - - -

- Emergency Action Plans - - - -
- Hazard Communication - - - -
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - - - -
- Radiation Safety (cabinet X-ray equipment) - - - -
- Environmental Program Oversight: Support compliance with
environmental programs, including: - - - -
- Wastewater Treatment Operations (EHS sub-department) - - -

- Waste disposal and hazardous waste management - - - -
- Air quality regulations - - - -
- Stormwater permits (NPDES) - - - -
- Spill Prevention Control Countermeasure (SPCC) plans

- Incident Investigation & Resolution: Partner with all
departments to thoroughly investigate, track, and resolve
incidents, injuries, and near misses. Maintain a working knowledge
of the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation Program and collaborate
with Human Resources on claims management. - - - -
- EHS Integration in Operations: Participate in operational
meetings to provide safety insights, assist in planning for
equipment repairs and replacements, and ensure EHS compliance in
plant expansions and process modifications. - - - -
- Workplace Safety Oversight: Monitor and guide employees during
maintenance and equipment operation to ensure compliance with
safety procedures and best practices. - - - -
- Training & Education: Administer, and deliver training programs
on compliance initiatives, new policies and procedures, ergonomic
improvements, and safe operation of new equipment. - - - -
- Policy Development & Enforcement: Implement, and enforce EHS
policies and procedures to maintain a safe and compliant work
environment. - - - -
- Data Management & Reporting: Accurately record, log, and
analyze safety and environmental data, preparing reports, trends,
and charts as required. - - - -
- Contractor & Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with contractors,
equipment manufacturers, vendors, and third-party training
providers to ensure compliance with safety and environmental
standards. - - - -
- Environmental & Industrial Hygiene Monitoring: Conduct or
coordinate environmental sampling and industrial hygiene
monitoring, including noise surveys, air quality assessments, and
wastewater sampling.EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS -

- Education & Experience: Associate's degree in Occupational
Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related
Science/Engineering field is strongly preferred, with a minimum of
2+ years of relevant EHS experience in an industrial or
manufacturing setting. - - - -
- Certifications: Possession of one of the following
industry-recognized EHS credential and/or certification is strongly
preferred:

- OSHA 10 or 30-Hour Certification - - - - - - - -
- 40-Hour HAZWOPER - - - - - - - -
- OSHA 511/501 Certification - - - - - - - -
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety

- Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician (OHST) - - - - - - -

- Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) for documentation,
reporting, and communication. - - - -
- Emergency Preparedness: Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification
preferred. - - - -
- Specialized Knowledge:

- Experience with Anhydrous Ammonia systems and/or OSHA Process
Safety Management (PSM) preferred. - - - - - - - -
- Knowledge of Manual Lifting and Ergonomic Risk Assessments

- Familiarity with mechanical equipment and engineering concepts
