Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Stepdown Cardiac Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1.5 years in Stepdown or Progressive Care Unit required. License: State RN license required. Certifications: BLS, NIH required; ACLS preferred. Must-Have: Must have 1:5 patient ratio experience in Stepdown or Progressive Care. EPIC experience is required. Candidate must pass an online EKG tele competency assessment prior to starting the assignment. Must be able to read and interpret cardiac strips. IV start proficiency is required. Competence in managing IV drips such as heparin, nitroglycerin, amiodarone, Cardizem, and insulin is required. Availability to float to other units as needed is required. Candidate must be able to work every other weekend and holiday. Description: This position involves caring for patients in a Stepdown Cardiac unit. Typical patients include those with heart failure, chest pain, NSTEMI, and post-procedure conditions. The daily average census is 31 patients. RNs must provide high-quality care and demonstrate clinical competence. Impressive communication skills and teamwork are essential in this role. Candidate should be proficient in managing complex patient needs. Floating to other units may be required based on staffing needs. Approval for time off requests will be at the manager's discretion.
