Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Dayton, OH Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,831 per week Shift Information: Days - 4 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 1/19/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1.5 years of experience required. Experience in step down or progressive care units is mandatory. Must have recent experience with CABG and valve post-operative care. License: Registered Nurse license required. Certifications: BLS ACLS NIHSS Must-Have: Pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment. Experience with EPIC charting system required. Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips necessary. Must be able to start IVs and manage cardiac drips, including titration. Prior floating experience is preferred. Traveler must be available to work every other weekend and holiday. Description: Cardiac experience is required. Candidates must demonstrate a 1:5 patient ratio experience in the work history section. ICU experience does not count towards step down or progressive care unit experience. Targeted patient ratios on the unit are 1:4 to 1:6. Travelers will float to other specialty clusters as needed. Must work a medically appropriate assignment or support the nursing care of the unit. Primary patient population includes pre and post-operative cardiac patients. Unit specialties include management of open heart surgeries, including CABG and valve procedures. Advanced cardiac care for patients on continuous telemetry is required. Daily census on the unit averages 32 patients. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and other allied health services. Continuing education in the form of modules may be necessary. No more than 14 days of requested time off are allowed during the contract period. References are not required.
