procedures, state and federal regulations, and public relations
Description: Provides professional nursing care to individuals in a
health services unit. Observes, assesses, and records symptoms,
reactions, and progress of patients. Makes nursing rounds and takes
and records vital signs. Prepares and administers prescribed
medications and treatment plans. Prepares and administers
immunizations as needed. Monitors patients requiring restraint and
provides immediate medical attention for emergencies. Administers
first aid and arranges transportation to emergency rooms when
necessary. Counsels patients regarding medical referrals.
Participates in staff development and education activities. Reviews
care plans written by staff and trains or orients new employees.
Responsible for the health care of bedridden individuals, making
rounds, and evaluating care needs. Performs specialized procedures
such as IV therapy and wound care. Organizes and oversees emergency
response teams as needed. Acts as a lead worker in charge of shifts
in the absence of higher-level nursing staff. Assists in giving
diagnostic health evaluations. Charts and records all medications
and treatments administered. Completes required reports and
documents pertinent medical information. Maintains inventory of
controlled substances and medical supplies. Makes arrangements for
outpatient appointments and medical examinations. Serves as a
liaison within the organization and conducts meetings. Serves as an
instructor or member of problem-solving teams as needed.
Demonstrates physical fitness and ability to deal with various
variables and classifications of information. Requirements Required
