role will serve as a licensed pharmacist dispensing medications
within our mail-order setting to the individuals that we serve
daily. Key Responsibilities: ? Serves patients by preparing
medications, giving pharmacological information to patients and
health care teams, and monitoring patient drug therapies ? Hours -
Monday-Friday hours vary between 8:00am-6:00pm ? Prepares and
assists the Pharmacy team in the preparation of medications by
reviewing and interpreting physician orders; detects therapeutic
incompatibilities ? Dispenses medication by planning, implementing,
or maintaining procedures for packaging and labeling
pharmaceuticals, according to policy and legal requirements to
ensure quality, security, and proper disposal. ? Assess the
identity, strength, or purity of medications. ? Assists in the
maintenance of records, such as pharmacy files, patient profiles,
and inventories of noncontrolled or controlled drugs. ? Controls
medications by monitoring drug therapies; advising interventions. ?
Completes pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and
directing technicians' workflow; verifying their preparation and
labeling of pharmaceuticals; verifying order entries ? Manages the
workflow processes which may include pharmacist verification,
labeling/packaging, quality assurance with barcode verification and
drug images and shipment of orders ? Utilizes computer systems to
screen for drug interactions, therapeutic duplication, drugdisease
contradictions, drug allergies, geriatric precautions, drug-food
precautions, and adult min-max dose checking.9. Provides
pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of
health care professionals, and counseling patients on drug
therapies. ? Develops staff pharmacological knowledge by
participating in clinical programs, training pharmacy staff,
interns, residents, and health care professionals. ? Complies with
state and federal drug laws as regulated by the State Board of
Pharmacy, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Food and
Drug Administration by monitoring unit inspections, maintaining
records for controlled substances; removing outdated and damaged
drugs from the pharmacy inventory, follows disposal of drugs per
drug disposal guidelines Qualifications: ? Education: Bachelors of
Science (B. S.) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree ?
Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of experience in mail pharmacy
operations preferred but not required. New pharmacist applicants
are encouraged to apply. ? Skills: o Excellent organization and
time management. o Strong customer service skills and tone o
Experience with medication dispensing units o Strong analytical and
problem-solving abilities. ? Licensures: Licensed with the Indiana
Board of Pharmacy as a licensed pharmacist Work Environment: ? This
position works in a closed door pharmacy setting ? This position is
generally Monday-Friday ? This position will require some standing.
? May require assistance in the Long-Term-Care pharmacy side if
