is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Telemetry (MS/Tele)
position with a high cardiac patient population, requiring ACLS,
BLS, and NIH certifications on a 12-hour night shift schedule.
Details - Medical/Telemetry unit (8AB) in an acute care hospital
setting - Patient population includes a high volume of cardiac
patients: chest pain/cardiac rule-out (stress test, Echo), CHF
exacerbations, pre/post cardiac cath, and alcohol detox patients -
Drips include Cardizem, Nitro, and Heparin — no pressors; ability
to titrate drips is required - Equipment used includes Alaris pumps
and Hercules beds - Lines and drains include JP drains, occasional
stable chest tubes, ports, and PICC lines — no specialty lines or
devices - Oxygen management limited to nasal cannula; patients with
chronic BiPAP/CPAP may be seen, but acute needs are transferred -
Occasional chronic trach patients — no ventilators - Typical
nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4–5 - Unit has 36 beds with a unit
secretary Monday–Friday 7a–3p and 2–4 PCTs depending on volume -
Night shift charge nurses take a patient assignment; day shift
charge is variable based on census - 12-hour night shifts, every
other weekend (EOW), every other holiday (EOH) - Epic EHR used
(training preferred) Requirements - Active RN license in Ohio or a
compact state currently in hand - Current certifications required:
BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) - Minimum 1 year of RN
experience required - Pre/post cardiac cath experience required -
Experience titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem, Nitro, Heparin)
strongly preferred - Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from
the facility to qualify for travel rates - Required for
consideration: proof of address (Driver's License, voter
registration card, federal tax return, Military Form 2058, or W2
from US government), copy of certifications, 1 supervisory
reference, Nursys license verification, and full SSN and DOB
(MM/DD) Additional Information - Conducts initial and ongoing
patient assessments, develops and implements individualized plans
of care, and evaluates treatment effectiveness - Serves as the
primary point of contact for care coordination across hospital
departments, working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams
and family members - Administers medications safely in accordance
with state practice standards and facility policies - Acts as a
patient safety advocate through participation in ongoing quality
improvement initiatives - A pass/fail EKG test is required on the
first day with two attempts allowed — a study guide will be
provided - A Dysrhythmia Exam is also required prior to starting; a
study guide is available - Navy blue scrubs required - Local
