Position Information (Default Section)Job Summary/Basic Function The Admissions and Recruiting Coordinator is the contact person for the admissions and matriculation process for the BSoM. The coordinator communicates with the applicants throughout the entire process.Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and a minimum of one year of work experience in a higher education environment or an Associate degree and a minimum of three years of work experience in a higher education environment (part-time and internship hours count toward work experience requirement). Has the ability to work independently. Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills are a requirement. Experience in writing, document editing, and file management skills is required. The applicant must possess an ability to calculate basic math, have a working knowledge of how to operate standard office equipment, and the ability to learn a variety of computer database systems unique to a medical education environment.Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a medical education environment. Experience with higher education admissions environment and/or Web Admit. Experience with Mac Computers.Essential Functions and percent of time 40% Coordinate recruitment, selection, and matriculation of qualified candidates for the BSoM. Implements and maintains the new Web Admit technology. Represents BSoM at recruiting events such as Open House and Second Look. Coordinate recruitment activities or programs as assigned. 30% Provide admission instruction to prospective students. Respond to requests for information for prospective students. Counsels applicants by email and phone regarding WSU requirements and processes. 15% In compliance with the University and Liaison Committee of Medical Education standards (LCME), maintains permanent American Medical College Admission Service and established BSoM sponsored admissions records. Directs the archiving of data related to existing pipeline recruiting programs for the BSoM. 10% Following established BSoM admissions, processes and procedures, manages administrative support for the Director of Admissions, Admissions Committee Members, and the Office of Admissions student workers. 5% Other duties as assigned.Working Conditions Typical university office environment; some evening and weekend events required.
