If you are a Welding Engineering professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opening for you! Based in our Sidney, Ohio location, you will work inside the corporate Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) department leading a team of welding engineers in the development of welding processes and the procurement of capital equipment while driving timely project execution. You will design and implement manufacturing processes and equipment for our North American facilities in collaboration with our product and plant engineering staffs. As the welding technology leader, you will be responsible for driving continuous improvement and welding standardization across our assembly facilities while striving to develop and implement leading welding technologies.

AS A WELDING TECHNOLOGY MANAGER, YOU WILL:

* Manage and prioritize resources to ensure welding engineering support is provided to meet department and company goals


* Provide strong technology leadership in the following welding subject areas: GMAW (mig), resistance, inertia welding and laser cutting


* Work collaboratively across multi-functional teams to drive design for manufacturability of our welding processes for new product programs, cost reductions and capacity expansions.


* Review and approve PFMEA, DFMEA, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)


* Analyze capital investment requirements and manage capital and department budgets


* Drive execution and compliance of welding governing body regulations and procedures


* Supervise, review and drive employee talent development and conduct performance evaluations

Flexible Work Schedule - Remote Work Option and Core Hours:

This role has the flexibility of a remote work option up to three days a week and a core hour schedule. You can choose to flex your start and stop times given you are working during the core hours of 9:00am - 3:00pm. Our teams work together to ensure our chosen work schedules enable our creativity and productivity as we serve the needs of our customers.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

* Bachelor of Science Degree in Welding Engineering. Other Engineering degrees wll be considered with relevant welding engineering experience.
* 10 years of related experience in gas metal arc cutting (GMAW) and projection resistance welding technologies in a manufacturing environment
* Demonstrated ability managing technical resources
* Experience and ability to read component and assembly drawings
* Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively (both oral and written) across multi-functional teams and management
* Proficient with AutoCAD and / or similar software
* Experience in Lean Manufacturing fundamentals
* Legal Authorization to work in the United States-Sponsorship will not be provided for this role

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

* Masters in Welding Engineering and/or MBA
* Experience managing technical resources
* 10 years relevant experience.
* Experience in inertial welding, laser welding and laser cutting
* Experience in robotics and robotic welding applications
* Knowledge and experience in European Pressure Equipment Directive (PED)
* Proficient in NX Teamcenter
