Job Description:
Position SummarySinclair Community Colleges is a comprehensive
community college with an enrollment of over 30,000 students that
offers career and transfer programs leading to an associate degree,
certificate programs, and continuing education opportunities. The
Computer Science & Information Technology Department announces a
full-time tenure track position.Principal AccountabilitiesThe
following are six critical performance areas that define a standard
faculty position:Scholarship and Professional Growth: Maintain and
seek to improve currency and competence in the discipline and as a
teacher.Teaching and Learning Facilitation: Participate in the
continuing development and implementation of the department's
curriculum through teaching that reflects a strong commitment to
fostering student success.Assessment and Evaluation: Implement
evaluations according to established standards and use assessment
data to continuously improve teaching and learning.Student
Development: Through in-class and out-of-class initiatives,
actively seek to advance the development of individual students and
their capacity to meet their educational goals.Curriculum Design:
In collaboration with colleagues, actively contribute to the
continuous review and revision of the department's
curriculum.Workplace and Community Service: Contribute to the
operation and advancement of the college through committee service
and other activities. Extend professional expertise to the
community served by the college.RequirementsMaster's Degree in
Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical & Computer
Engineering, or a related area with at least five years of relevant
experience required. Significant and relevant work experience in an
Information Technology role can be considered in lieu of a degree
in a preferred discipline.Candidates without a master's degree will
be required to obtain one within a specified timeSuccessful prior
teaching experience required, at the community college or
university level preferred.Experience in a technical or
instructional position related to IOT, CS, and IT preferredEvidence
of successful prior teaching experience requiredExperience teaching
in a community college preferredSkills in preferred IOT, IIOT,
Cyber, and Networking.Active business and industry engagement in
the region served by Sinclair Community College preferred.Active
membership and participation in local, regional, or national
professional IT organizations preferred.Effective communication and
interpersonal skills, and the capacity to work successfully in a
culturally diverse college community required.Demonstrated skills
in using modern educational technology, including multimedia-based
classroom & laboratory instruction requiredA demonstrated
commitment to improving student learning through innovative
strategies shown to help students succeed at the course and program
level, including ability to teach in a student-centered active
learning model required.Candidates will be required to demonstrate
teaching methods and strategies via a 10-15-minute presentation
during the interview
