Job Description:
Position SummarySinclair Community Colleges seeks to attract an
academically and culturally diverse faculty that carries out the
mission of the college with dedication, innovation and a commitment
to the success of each student. The Division of Science,
Mathematics and Engineering is currently seeking candidates for a
tenure track opening in the Electronics & Robotics department
effective August 2023.Principal AccountabilitiesCarry out the six
Critical Performance areas of a tenure track
appointment:Scholarship and Professional Growth: Maintain and seek
to improve currency and competence in the discipline as a
teacherTeaching and Learning Facilitation: Participate in the
continuing development and implementation of the department's
curriculum through teaching that reflects a strong commitment to
fostering student successAssessment and Evaluation: Implement
evaluations according to established standards and use assessment
data to continuously improve teaching and learningStudent
Development: Through in-class and out-of-class initiatives,
actively seek to advance the development of individual students and
their capacity to meet their educational goalsCurriculum Design: In
collaboration with colleagues, actively contribute to the
continuous review and revision of the department's
curriculumWorkplace and Community Service: Contribute to the
operation and advancement of the college through committee service
and other activitiesA contract for employment will not be issued
without receiving official transcripts for all post-secondary
degrees and successful completion of a background
check.RequirementsMaster's Degree in Electronics or Electrical
Engineering, Electronics or Electrical Engineering Technology,
Automation/IoT/Cyber/Controls, Electrical & Computer Engineering or
a related area with at least five years of relevant experience
required.In lieu of a Master's degree a bachelor's degree in
Electronics or Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering,
Electronics or Electrical Engineering Technology,
Automation/IoT/Cyber/Controls, Electrical & Computer Engineering,
or a related area, and significant industrial or educational
experience, with related certifications may be accepted
initially.Candidates without a master's degree will be required to
obtain one within a specified time.Experience in a technical or
instructional position related to Electrical Engineering
preferredEvidence of successful prior teaching experience
requiredExperience teaching in a community college preferredA
demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through
innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the course
and program levelEffective communication skills and interpersonal
skills with the capacity to work successfully in a culturally
diverse college community requiredDemonstrated skills in using
modern educational technology, including multimedia-based classroom
& laboratory instruction requiredSkills in microelectronics and
semiconductor manufacturing
