Avionics Cyber Software Engineer II

Job Description:

DescriptionWork with customer and team members to refine project requirements and scope.Work with team of engineers to perform vulnerability testing and assessments of aircraft avionics systems.Design and develop real-time embedded software for avionics test beds within System Integration Laboratories (SILs) and related systems. Involves creating or adapting simulation models of avionics subsystems and interfaces to support avionics cyber testing.Design and develop custom tools for reverse engineering and vulnerability assessment.Provide leadership and guidance as needed on assigned projects.Perform full software life cycle functions including software/firmware requirements, architecture, design, code, test, integration and documentation.Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the SBU/SSU and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.Perform other duties as necessary.What You'll NeedBS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 5 or more years related experienceEach higher-level related degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of related experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.Current Secret Clearance is preferred.Experience with military avionics, especially developing, integrating, and using avionics test systems, including experience with MIL-STD-1553B, ARINC 429, and/or Fibre Channel communications.Experience programming in C/C++, and/or other high level languages including knowledge of ADA and/or JOVIAL.Experience programming assembly language, preferably PowerPC, x86, and/or MIL-STD-1750A processors.Experience with real-time operating systems including real-time Linux or other RTOS.Experience using tools such as IDAPro and disassemblers.Experience with formal software development processes.Excellent communication, presentation and team skills.Working ConditionsWork is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or clean room, outdoors or remote research environment.May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.May access other facilities in various weather conditions.Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.Published DescriptionDescription of ServiceWhat You'll DoWork with customer and team members to refine project requirements and scope.Work with team of engineers to perform vulnerability testing and assessments of aircraft avionics systems.Design and develop real-time embedded software for avionics test beds within System Integration Laboratories (SILs) and related systems.
