Job Description Job Description JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE The Mold Splitter is responsible for separating molds in the foundry process to ensure the production of high-quality railroad wheels. This role is crucial in maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of our manufacturing operations, supporting the overall goals of Amsted Rail, Griffin Wheel. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES Separate molds using specialized tools and equipment. Inspect molds for defects and report any issues to the supervisor. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Assist in the setup and teardown of mold equipment. Collaborate with team members to meet production targets. Perform routine maintenance on mold splitting tools and equipment. Document production activities and mold conditions accurately. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity. JOB KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Required Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or foundry environment. Skills & Competencies: Ability to operate mold splitting tools and equipment. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and teamwork abilities. Basic understanding of safety protocols in a manufacturing setting. Certifications: Forklift certification preferred. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a foundry or heavy manufacturing environment. Knowledge of mold splitting techniques and best practices. KEY CHALLENGES Working in a high-temperature environment. Managing repetitive tasks while maintaining quality standards. Adhering to strict safety protocols.
