Job Description:

Minimum Level of Education Required: Bachelors Degree

Manages planning, development, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing methods, processes and operations for new and existing products. Ensures the effective use of materials, equipment, and personnel in producing quality products at minimum costs. Acts as liaison with engineering in releasing new products. Develops systems to maintain reports and record keeping of company products. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Leads Engineers and Engineering Technicians to deliver corporate and site goals and objectives

Manages Value Stream projects to deliver year over year improvements in safety, quality, delivery, inventory and cost performance

Assists the Value Stream Leader in establishing overall strategy and vision

Manages the implementation of process development, projects including new machine development, sample production, tooling development and design

Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to best manufacturing practices and optimizes those processes to reduce lead times and reduce costs

Designs the sequence of operations and specify a procedure for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other function that affects product performance or assists/aids the manufacturing processes

Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions and incorporate inspection and test requirements into production

Interfaces with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products and to provide guidance regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques

Estimates manufacturing cost, evaluates time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines.

Manages direct staffing, including attracting and developing talent to achieve strategic and tactical organizational needs

Responsible for planning and end results through management of team(s); defines roles and responsibilities, plans for the department's future needs and operations, counsels Shareowners on performance and contributes to Shareowner pay decisions/changes; may manage through other supervisors

Guided by long-term objectives; helps determine approaches to managing processes, resolving operational issues, and resource management; contributes to the standards around which other will operate

Provides guidance, constructive input and motivation; adapts communication techniques for a variety of audiences

Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends.

Follows processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Acts as an advisor to subordinate (s) to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems. Develops and administers schedules, performance requirements; may have budget responsibilities

Frequently interacts with subordinate supervisors, customers, and/or functional peer group managers, normally involving matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers and the company

Manages through subordinate supervisors, the coordination of the activities of a section or department with responsibility for results, including costs, methods and staffing

Basic Qualifications

Requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience

Knowledge of scheduling, engineering, production, quality control, and shipping functions.

Knowledge of CNC programming, turning, milling, secondary processing, assembly, cleaning, blueprint interpretation, and GD&T.

Knowledge of DFA/DFM best practices, including hands-on experience with Lean Six Sigma tools.

Perform duties in compliance with applicable FDA and state regulations as well as standards including, but not limited to, ISO 13485.
