Job Details Description This position is responsible for performing a variety of functions in the manufacturing of processed meat and sausage products. Accountabilities Prioritizes food quality and maintains food safety, through the vigilant application and monitoring of company GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).Ensures all PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the assigned job is being used by area staff and relays to Area Supervisor and Safety Supervisor if equipment condition is not 100% or if missing. Perpetuates a "Safety First" culture.Sets up the Mix Grind/KP production line, makes adjustments to equipment as necessary to achieve a minimum of 85% OEEEnsures that supplies are correct and available for each production run and mixersAssists supervisor directing employees on daily mixer operations, KP production and packaging line; trains employees to achieve standard OEE and quality expectations.Will oversee the filling of mixers and packaging of scheduled KP production with strict adherence to product specifications and dating guidelines.Addresses complaints and attempts to resolve issues with both people and equipment; bringing to management's attention any issues that cannot be quickly resolved on the production floor.Drives continuous improvement efforts in their area of responsibility; utilizing lean tools to eliminate waste in process, time and materialsEnsures accurate record keeping of mixer sheets, production sheets, scan guns or other methods to drive accurate capturing of production data and KPI'sFollows all SQF principles pertinent to the position as specified by the SQF Practitioner.All other duties as assigned. Knowledge Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formAbility to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situationsAbility to communicate problems or issues to production leadership to address concerns of product waste, quality or employee safetyUnderstands the basics of Lean Manufacturing; "GEAR" in order to contribute to the organization's continuous improvement efforts. Education/Experience Basic math skills, with the ability to read and writeCommunity College, High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferredFour or more years manufacturing experience preferred QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
