Responsibilities

Who you are

This position supports the well-being program of employees and covered spouses within the OBC member jurisdictions (the OBC Pool) and will be based in/around Dayton, OH. The Wellness Coordinator will work with OBC Wellness Committee members and the CSM, promoting well-being among the eligible employees and their covered spouses within the OBC Pool. The Wellness Coordinator will collaborate with the OBC Wellness Committee to develop programs, communications outreach tactics and engagement activities. This individual will provide advocacy for Virgin Pulse products and demonstrate Virgin Pulse's mission of Changing Lives for Good.

This position will be based out of the Coordinators home. This position requires regular daytime travel to each of the OBC Pool member jurisdictions. Travel time involved will be dependent on the home location of the Coordinator as the starting point but may include distance of a 1-hour commute. Member jurisdictions are within the greater-Dayton and greater-Cincinnati, OH area. There is no overnight travel expected.

Who is the OBC Pool?

The Ohio Benefits Cooperative (OBC) is a not-for-profit partnership of government and public entities throughout Ohio that have pooled resources to help control rapidly escalating benefit costs. Among other offerings, the OBC provides group medical for members' eligible employees and their families. Membership in the OBC may consist of municipalities, counties, townships, special districts and school districts. The OBC philosophy of "strength in numbers" has resulted in a stable, comprehensive and affordable benefit package that comes with an established benefit cooperative.

The OBC Pool is a subset of the larger OBC. This Pool is a combination of member groups pooled together for their health and wellness needs (including their medical and wellness program). The Wellness program in place is included in the benefit for all OBC Pool members. As of April 2021, there are 12 member groups in the OBC Pool, with an average of 1000 covered employees. Both covered employees and their covered spouses are eligible for the wellness program.

Essential Job Functions:

The Wellness Coordinator will partner with OBC Pool to promote a culture of health that address the health needs of OBC Pool's population. Additionally, the Wellness Coordinator will work closely with OBC Wellness Committee members to create integrated programming designed to improve awareness of health issues as well as create opportunities for OBC members' employees and covered spouses to engage in healthy activities. This individual will be qualified and have the resources to answer all the questions about Virgin Pulse and our products as well as questions and/or concerns regarding our well-being programs, benefits, and resources. Additionally, this position will support efforts to build out tools, resources and training which lend themselves to "onsite" including but not limited to Wellness Champion Networks.

In this role you will wear many hats but your skills will be especially essential in the following:

  • Have the resources and skillset to answer all participant questions about Virgin Pulse and our products and technology
  • Identify opportunities to integrate well-being into the culture of the OBC Pool members
  • Monitor, evaluate and respond to program measurements, including operations and quality, to drive continuous quality improvement initiatives and goals
  • Engage and partner with OBC leadership to support a culture of well-being
  • Collaborate with OBC Wellness Committee to drive engagement in healthy activities
  • Develop and leverage partnerships with other OBC Pool well-being programs
  • Provide data and analytics support to define, track and report on program activities, participation and results
  • Serve as a liaison between Virgin Pulse and ongoing OBC Wellness Committee/Pool/Board/member jurisdiction meetings
  • Manage, respond and report feedback from participants
  • Research trending wellness & health management topics for consideration by OBC Wellness Committee
  • Ensure strategies are translated to implementation plans and that such plans are communicated and implemented effectively
  • Collaborate with OBC and Virgin Pulse including, but not limited to, Marketing, Product, Business Operations and Customer Service, to support key implementation/program update activities
  • Participate in ongoing Virgin Pulse discussions/meetings
  • Support for renewal planning as appropriate
  • Build out and Support the well-being champion network and provide leadership, support and resources to champions at multiple locations
  • Successfully escalate concerns within the applicable organization and help drive issue resolution in a timely manner
  • Support implementation of health promotion programs including health screenings, flu shots and others across client's multiple locations
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

What you bring to the team

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in health promotion or other health related field
  • Master's degree preferred

EXPERIENCE

  • 2 -3 years' experience in fields related to health and wellness
  • 2 -3 years' experience in business environment, preferably within the public sector
  • Working knowledge of the Virgin Pulse platform and systems/tools, or similar wellness program experience
