Job Description Summary The GE Aviation Dayton Cores and Castings Team is going through a tremendous amount of growth. The GE Aviation Dayton Cores and Castings Team is delivering world class Turbine Airfoil Cores and Castings through speed, innovation, and collaboration by disrupting the industry with manufacturing technology, being the fastest NPI development in the industry, supporting our supply base, and delivering on critical business needs. Lean is critical to our continued success. The Senior Lean Leader will teach and coach the organization on principles and tools in order to drive cultural transformation resulting in improved performance across operational business metrics. Job Description Essential Responsibilities * Teach and coach teams on lean methodology, principles, and tools * Partner with teams to develop lean transformation strategy for the organization * Lead projects/process improvement to execute lean strategy * Facilitate implementation of a daily management system * Deliver lean trainings and facilitate events / workouts to achieve measurable improvements. * Serve as a champion, coach, mentor for change by influencing and guiding leadership and teams to better understanding and adopt lean principles, and problem-solving methodologies, ultimately fostering a culture of change and servant leadership. * Partner in overcoming business challenges and recommend best practices to improve processes and products * Stay informed of industry trends that may influence work * Lead the planning and execution of Hoshin Kanri deployment process, kaizens, and other lean transformation initiatives focused on safely eliminating waste, creating velocity, and reducing lead times, through the application of standard work. Support the adherence of kaizen standard work ensuring high levels of engagement and collaboration during pre-work, event week, and post event weeks. * Training and coaching all associated via formal training and Gemba walks on problem solving behaviors and basic lean methodologies including visual management, 5S, Standardized work, and leader standard work. * Analyze data and use value stream mapping to create future state lean designs. * Build cross functional relationships to build trust * Utilize change management and collaboration skills to lead change across the organization Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field from an accredited college or university * 3+ years of experience in teaching, coaching, practicing, and applying lean methods (i.e., VSM, Cell design, 3P, TPM, 5S, set up reduction, kaizen, standard work, leader standard work, problem solving, Kanban and lean transformations) * Strong communication, leadership, facilitation, and project management skills with the ability to speak effectively with various audiences. Desired Characteristics * Lean Manufacturing background within a plant and operational experience from a production / manufacturing setting * Application-based understanding of lean and related continuous improvement methods (Six Sigma, TPM, TPS, etc.) * Experience with Value Stream Mapping (Material & Information Flow Chart) * Skilled in use of data analytics and tools * Well-developed problem-solving skills * Strong communication skills and ability to operate at multiple organizational levels * Leading cross-functional teams / influencing horizontally * Willingness to challenge the status quo & overcome resistance * Demonstrated ability to manage change, execute projects and deliver results * Strong interpersonal skills * Solid business acumen with substantial leadership experience * Hands-on experience with implementing change projects * Humble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn * Transparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructively * Focused: quick learner, strategically prioritizes work, committed This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology.
