("NSI"), a group company of Nippon Seiki, located in Troy, MI, is a tier one supplier of instrument clusters and head-up display units for FCA US, General Motors, BMW, Honda, Harley Davidson, Suzuki, Polaris, Arctic Cat and other OEM's.Purpose of JobThe Calibration Specialist will calibrate and control various types of electronic equipment related to the automotive industry. - Under limited supervision, they will develop calibration procedures using quality, engineering and customer specifications. Performs annual Gage R&R studies and ESD Audits based off of ANSI-ESD S20.20-2014 and NSII ESD Control Plan. Addresses Equipment and ESD issues and performs thorough root cause analysis. Interacts with customers, suppliers and support departments for metrology issues. Perform minor equipment maintenance and support outside company's calibration, maintenance and repair work.Major Duties/Responsibilities ---Calibrates electronic equipment per NIST standards. ---Controls equipment that is outsourced for calibration. ---Performs ESD Audits. ---Performs minor maintenance and repairs on ESD Equipment. ---Performs and records Gage R&R studies. ---Maintains a strong understanding of customer requirements, calibration specifications, and test methods. ---Establishes and maintains documented procedures to calibrate and maintain inspection, measuring and test equipment per industry accepted practices. ---Maintains a database for all equipment, which includes calibration due dates and data. ---Troubleshoots equipment problems. ---Ensures that the environmental conditions are suitable for the calibrations, inspections, measurements, and tests being carried out. ---Maintains the lab test equipment and keeps lab clean and orderly. ---Performs other duties as assigned. - - Education, Experience and KnowledgeRequired and/or preferred level of education, knowledge and skills that are necessary.Education ---High School Diploma with 2 years electrical/ electronic experience is required. ---Associate Degree in related field is preferred. - Knowledge and Experience ---ASQ or IAS certification and/or experience with Fluke MET CAL Calibration Software is a plus. ---Metrology (calibration, gage R&R) experience is preferred. ---Work requires proficiency using MS Office software: Word, Excel, Power Point and email/ internet software. ---Demonstrates knowledge of basic tools and simple rework, including standard test equipment, such as Hand held multi-meters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, etc. Additional InformationWork HoursMonday-Friday, 8 am - 5pm.
