Job Title: Licensed Autism Specialist Location: Dayton, OH Organization: The Wellness and Resilience Center About Us : The Wellness and Resilience Center is dedicated to providing comprehensive mental health services with a focus on supporting children and their families. Our team is committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care to those affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Licensed Autism Specialist with expertise in ASD screening and diagnosis to join our dynamic team. Position Summary: The Licensed Autism Specialist will play a critical role in assessing and diagnosing Autism Spectrum Disorder using established tools such as the Childhood Autism Rating Scale (CARS) and the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS). The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of experience in ASD screening and diagnosis and will be passionate about working with children and families. Key Responsibilities : - Assessment and Diagnosis : - Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations using CARS, ADOS, and other relevant tools. - Diagnose Autism Spectrum Disorder in children based on thorough assessments and clinical judgment. - Develop detailed evaluation reports, including recommendations for intervention and support. - Clinical Services : - Provide individual, group, and family therapy to children diagnosed with ASD. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized treatment plans. - Monitor and document client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary. - Family Support : - Offer guidance, education, and support to families navigating an ASD diagnosis. - Facilitate parent training and support groups to empower families in managing ASD-related challenges. - Connect families with community resources and support services. - Professional Development : - Stay current with advancements in ASD research and clinical practices. - Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities. - Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues through case consultations and team meetings. - Community Engagement : - Represent The Wellness and Resilience Center in community outreach and education initiatives. - Collaborate with schools, healthcare providers, and community organizations to advocate for individuals with ASD. - Conduct workshops and presentations on ASD-related topics. Qualifications: - Licensed Healthcare Provider (e.g., Psychologist, Licensed Independent Social Worker, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor). - Minimum of 1 year of experience in ASD screening and diagnosis using CARS and/or ADOS. - Strong understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder and evidence-based treatment approaches. - Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. - Commitment to working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. - Passion for supporting children and families affected by ASD.
