Job Description:
The teammate is responsible for providing direct support of
day-to-day payroll, group benefits, and compensation processes
consistent with the Bank's strategic goals and priorities. In
performing job duties, the teammate is responsible for ensuring
compliance with both internal policy and applicable laws and
regulations, as well as consistency with the Bank's Culture of
Excellence.
Essential Functions:
- Serves as primary point of contact for payroll administration
and time and attendance tracking; ensuring that data is gathered,
input and approved timely, accurately and consistent with internal
controls
- Coordinates with payroll provider as questions arise, surfacing
problems and/or recommending corrective action where appropriate.
Troubleshoots and provides timely systems training to internal
users where needed
- Provides assistance to staff relative to benefits, including
responding to questions, assisting with forms or online systems,
and troubleshooting problems when they arise; serves as the key
point of contact for the benefits component during new hire
orientation
- Manages the benefit administration process including new
benefit enrollments, changes and/or terminations on a timely basis;
ensures that proper documentation is maintained and appropriately
filed; troubleshoots problems when they arise
- Acts as liaison with various insurance carriers and fosters
effective relationships
- Reconciles monthly benefit-related invoices and submit for
payment
- Manages and promotes the Wellness program, including leading
monthly committee meetings, assisting with Wellness events,
managing incentives, and leading continual program
improvements
- Administers leaves of absence and related benefits, including,
but not limited to Family and Medical Leave, workers' compensation,
short-term disability, long-term disability, caregiving leaves, and
personal leaves of absence; ensures consistency with Bank policy
and applicable laws/regulations
- Assists with the coordination and implementation of major
initiatives, including annual benefit open enrollment processes;
helps resolve benefit-related issues that may arise
- Prepares and delivers employee communications through various
media. May assist with the following: the review and revision of
1095-C documents, annual job description audit process, preparing
compensation information as needed for the annual budget process,
compiling information for audits and regulatory filings
- Collaborates on departmental imaging processes, ensuring
timeliness and accuracy in scanning, quality control and electronic
file maintenance
- Creates and/or maintains various spreadsheets, reports, and
records either in hard copy or electronic format
- Responds to general questions and inquiries from staff,
providing timely, courteous customer service on a consistent
basis
- Provides critical back-up for other Human Resources
staff
- May assist with compensation and benefit research and analysis,
as directed
Required Education, Experience and Skills:
- Formal training in Human Resources (including laws, regulations
and best practices), as evidenced by higher education and/or
certification program, or equivalent blend of education and
experience
- Three or more years of operational human resources
experience
- At least three years of experience processing payroll;
experience with ADP Workforce Now is highly desirable -
- Excellent interpersonal skills, exhibiting a high degree of
professionalism
- Excellent customer service skills, with the proven ability to
interact effectively with diverse individuals from diverse
backgrounds
- Proven written and verbal communication skills, including the
ability to effectively deliver information and training
- Demonstrated ability to multitask, with the proven ability to
efficiently process high volumes of detailed information
accurately
- Ability to work independently under pressure to meet deadlines;
ability to organize and prioritize tasks
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Effective coaching and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated proficiency with common computer applications;
prior experience working with payroll and/or HR database
systems
