Whether contributing to a better understanding of the universe or helping keep our nation safe, our people bring their diverse backgrounds, perspectives and skills together to achieve a common mission.Ball Aerospace is a prime contractor leading development teams at AFRL and NASIC.-- Dayton personnel develop advanced hardware and software systems and provide management services to solve customer problems and create new capabilities.-- This includes designing and developing software tools and threat models, performing extensive data analyses, and executing modeling and simulations using both internally developed and standard models.Systems Engineering Solutions provides technical and professional services to defense, intelligence, homeland security and space science markets. --Senior Systems Engineer; Avionics Testing:--Job Duties (What You---ll Do): This position will provide cyber weapon systems testing subject matter expertise and software development for the 96th Cyber Test Group (CTG).-- You---ll work on a joint Government-contractor team, developing cyber weapon system tests and software supporting avionics test beds in support of testing. Major responsibilities include: Provide technical leadership of small teams on test/development projects. Have 10+ years--- technical experience in avionics/test and related topics Work with customers to develop and support test planning. Develop requirements and perform functional analysis. Design and develop real-time avionics test software. Support software evaluation, and resolve problems found during evaluation. Support test events. Have strong communication skills (written, verbal) to communicate with our customers and with Ball organizations Develop new work opportunities with internal business developers and external customer organizations Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule. Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, the Strategic Support Units and the Company.-- Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment. Perform other duties as necessary. What You---ll Need: BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 8 or more years related experience. Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master---s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of related experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education. Successful applicant must--have an acitve--security clearance. A degree in System Engineering or Computer Science preferred. Avionics test bed development and/or test support experience a plus. Experience in C/C++ software development for real-time systems Experience with the Windows and Linux Operating Systems Strong communication skills both written and verbal Very good to have: Experience with avionics embedded software development Experience in real-time, hardware-in-the-loop modeling and simulation Current Secret or higher DoD clearance Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office, laboratory, outdoors or remote testing environment. May access other facilities in various weather conditions.
