Laboratory TechnicianDayton, OH 45417System one is actively seeking a Laboratory Technician for a contract position located in Dayton, OH.Laboratory Technician Responsibilities:* This position will support R&D activities and synthesis of new products in our advanced materials lab in support of the company Electronic Polymers business* The site produces a variety of high purity polymers used in semiconductor manufacturing applications* This technician position reports to a Ph.D. research investigator and works closely with MS and PhD polymer synthesis chemists* Support transfer and scale up of advanced materials* Primary support for synthesis of polymers* Maintaining the labs including cleaning of glassware, waste management, transfer of solvents from the plant to the labs, keeping track of raw material consumptions (ordering supplies and raw materials) and general housekeeping* Documentation of experiments and scale-up work* Safely working in R&D and cleanroom synthesis laboratoriesLaboratory Technician Requirements:* Bachelor Degree (preferred)* Associate Degree in Chemistry or other technical or scientific field* Can lift up to 55 lbs* Experience in lab synthesis and polymer chemistry* Experience setting up glassware for polymer and organic synthesis* Experience working with glass reactors (tens of liters scale) in a pilot or lab facility* Experience performing calibrations and basic troubleshooting of analytical equipment* The following skill sets are preferred by the site:* Experience with data analysis to identify problems and plan a path forward for resolution* Experience with data interpretation from various analytical techniques* Experience working in an ISO/AS9100 certified working environment* Willing and able to wear personal protective equipment including respirator* Strong computer skills, including proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel) and word processing (MS Word)* Able to perform physical work consistent with corporate ergonomic guidelines* A proven track record of having a strong work ethic and positive team attitude* Willing and able to work off-shift, night-shift, and rotating shiftsDuration: ContractLocation: Dayton, OH
