diagnostics laboratory supports pre-screening, clinical trial, and
assay development activities, as well as diagnostic testing to aid
in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Testing personnel
develop, validate, implement, and perform testing to support the
overall business strategy and corporate portfolio objectives. These
clinical tests may be used in clinical research or as Laboratory
Developed Tests (LDT) but might also include In Vitro Diagnostics
(IVD) approved by regulatory bodies. Data generated might also be
utilized to support regulatory submissions. The Associate Research
Scientist (ARS) is responsible for aiding the laboratory’s
scientific development program, which is focused on the development
of biomarker assays to support drug development. The ARS will help
the laboratory research director with design and conduct of
experiments to test biomarker-related hypotheses, data acquisition
and presentation, and summarize and inform on scientific
developments in relevant therapeutic areas such as neuroscience,
immunology, and cardiometabolic health. Key Responsibilities of
Job: Literature Review: Conduct thorough reviews of primary
literature to stay updated on the latest scientific advancements.
Experimental Design and Execution: With guidance, design and
perform laboratory experiments to test hypotheses and validate
results. Data Analysis, Organization, and Presentation: Analyze
experiment and assay data using statistical tests; organize data
for scientific presentations to stakeholders. Technical Writing:
Write detailed scientific protocols and ensure compliance with
applicable regulatory requirements. Contribute to reports,
regulatory documents, manuscripts, posters, and other scientific
communications. Assay Development: With guidance, develop and
optimize assays for various applications. Project Management:
Manage projects effectively, ensuring timely completion and
adherence to objectives. Technical Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot
analytical equipment and resolve technical issues. Sample Handling:
Handle samples with precision and maintain accurate records using
Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) software Minimum
Qualification Requirements: Bachelors degree in life science or
related field with at least 3 years of laboratory experience or
Masters degree in life science or related field with at least 1
year of laboratory experience Qualified candidates must be legally

Skills/Preferences: Neuroscience background Strong presentation
skills or publications background Understanding of statistical
tests and knowledge of CAP or CLSI guidelines. Proficiency in
Excel, Power BI, or R. Familiarity with project management tools
Knowledge of immunoassays and molecular techniques. Strong
analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal
communication abilities. Ability to work independently and
collaboratively in a team environment. Attention to detail and

on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic
location. The anticipated wage for this position is $76,500 -
$162,800 Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a
company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual
performance). In addition, Lilly offers a comprehensive benefit
